By Linda Kor It was another big year for the Holbrook Police Department’s annual food drive to benefit Catholic Charities. Holbrook Junior High School brought in 2,700 non-perishable food items along with eight frozen turkeys, and Hulet Elementary School in Holbrook donated 1,473 items. In Joseph City, the volunteer fire department pitched in to help organize the schools and students contributed 1,050 items. People also contributed to the food boxes set up at businesses throughout Holbrook that brought in 900 non-perishable items for a grand total of 6,131 individual food items that will be used to help those who would otherwise go without this holiday season.
