Editor,

Thank you all for attending Flag Day, I had hoped for a better turn out. There is a lot going on in this world, but the flag of the United States of America holds strong, and we all need to remember what it stands for. I hope next year we will have a better turn out to hear the history of how it became our great flag.

Thank you, American Legion Post No. 37 your ex-prisoner of war Pledge of Allegiance given by Jim Hall was something that I had never heard before it was very moving. The meaning of the folding of the flag was done with love and care of our fellow man.

Thank you, Eric Baldonado, Jimmy Kennedy and Gordie Ferrigel, for doing a beautiful job of folding our flag. Thanks to Jim Hall for presenting the meaning of each fold. Thank you, Ilene Gulzar, for joining the Legion with the salute. Thank you, Cindy Tafoya’s grandsons and the Ron Smith family for helping to present the flags.

Thank you, Phillip and Melinda Rose, for cooking the hot dogs, and the Chamber for providing the sound system. Thank you, members of Holbrook Elks Lodge No. 2450, for presenting on our Flag Day ceremony. Pat Nichols, (history of the flag), Phil Cobb (response), Yolanda Lincoln (pray), and Rosalie, Bev and Nancy, for helping us out with a job well done. God bless America.
