Snowflake entered the 3A state pool play portion of the state tournament on Friday night as the 12th overall seed. They hosted No. 23 San Tan Foothills.
The Sabercats were 8-10 in regular season games, and they were no match for the 12-6 Lobos who won comfortably, 67-37.
Snowflake will now travel to face a very good Sabino team on Tuesday night in Tucson. Sabino finished the regular season with a 13-3 record. They were ranked 11th in the pool play round and defeated No. 24 ALA West Foothills 87-79 in a high-scoring game.
If Snowflake can upset the Sabercats they will face what is now top-seeded Benjamin Franklin at 6 p.m. on Saturday night. That game will be at Benjamin Franklin High School.
