The Lady Roadrunners played just once over their fall break. They traveled to Winslow to take on the 19th-ranked Bulldogs who are fighting for a chance to make the 3A play-in games. Holbrook is 32nd and most likely out of the postseason picture with just three games left.
Winslow won the match in three straight games, although each of the three were competitive. The Dawgs took game one 25-22, won game two 25-17, and put a cap on the match with a 25-20 game three win. Winslow controlled the net for much of the match, finishing with 31 total kills.
With the loss, Holbrook dropped to 2-13 in regular season action, and they are 2-6 in region play with both wins coming over Alchesay. The team enters this week ranked 32nd in the 3A rankings.
This week Holbrook plays just once traveling to Blue Ridge on Tuesday to face the 20th-ranked Lady Yellowjackets. They will wrap up the regular season next week with a home court match vs Northland Prep on the 29th, followed by a trip to Snowflake on Oct. 30, for what will be their final match of the season. The Northland Prep game will be senior night for the Lady Roadrunners.
