The Roadrunner volleyball team has shown moments of improvement in their past few matches however, the final results have been the same. The team dropped all three matches played last week beginning with a trip to St. Johns on Tuesday. The Redskins sent Holbrook packing in three straight games 25-18, 25-13, and 25-9.
Hosting region leader Snowflake the following night, Holbrook again lost in straight sets, although game two was competitive and they made the Lobos work for the win. Snowflake took game one 25-14 but had to battle to win game two 25-20. They regained complete control winning game three and the match 25-11.
Chinle made a visit to the newly renovated Munoz Gym on Friday afternoon and left with a three-game win. In the first game, the Wildcats won 25-14, but the following two games were close and could have gone either way. Chinle won both games, 25-22.
Holbrook has played multiple home games already this season and will now pay the price. They have six games remaining and five of those six will be on the road. They won’t play at home again until the end of the month when they host Northland Prep on the 29th.
This week they will face two teams at the opposite ends of the ranking spectrum. They travel to 34th-ranked Alchesay on Tuesday, then will venture to Kayenta on Saturday to take on the 4th-ranked and once-beaten Monument Valley Mustangs on Saturday. Next Tuesday they travel to Winslow for their only match scheduled during fall break. Holbrook enters this week 1-11 in regular season matches.
