Wryder Richards of Joseph City won the state championship in the 126-pound weight class at the Division IV state wrestling meet held late last week in Prescott Valley. Richards compiled a 4-0 record, including his 12-8 decision over Dawson Avila of St. Johns in the title match.
Trey Tuckfield went 1-2 in the 113-pound class for Joseph City. Teammate Tyler Gardner also competed in the state meet, going 0-2 in his two matches in the 132-pound class.
