The Winslow High School boys’ and girls’ track teams both finished ninth in their meets at Round Valley High School on March 18.
The boys’ meet was won by Snowflake with a score of 150.3. The girls’ meet was won by Show Low with a score of 130.5. The Winslow boys were ninth with a score of 16, while the girls were ninth with a score of 36. Blue Ridge was second in both the boys’ and girls’ meets with scores of 100 in the boys’ meet and 93 in the girls’ meet.
For Winslow, Rachel Montoya placed in two events, coming in fourth in the girls’ 1600 meter race and sixth in the 800 meter event. Kelafer Kinlecheenie was eighth in both the 100 meter and 200 meter races.
Lauren Hatch was fourth in the girls’ 200 meters. Misha Fuson was fourth in the girls’ discus and Marcella Joe was fourth in the girls’ 400 meters. Tito Johnson was fifth in the boys’ 400 meters. Sedale Flanagan was seventh in the boys’ long jump. Cody Sangster was eighth in the boys’ 800 meters and Haley Hancock was eighth in the girls’ discus.
