The Joseph City Wildcats finished eighth in the boys’ team competition and 15th in the girls’ at the Winslow Invitational track meet held last Friday. The top five teams in the boys’ division were Show Low, Coconino, Round Valley, Blue Ridge and Winslow. For the girls, Show Low, Coconino, Blue Ridge, Winslow and St. Johns made the top five. Nineteen teams competed in the meet.
For the Wildcats in the 100 meter dash, Matt Fields placed 11th with a time of 12.81; Aaron Johnstun, 15th; and Josh Fisher, 29th.
In the 200 meter run, Joe Burt placed 14th with a time of 27.05.
In the 400 meter dash, Max Mosier placed seventh with a time of 57.86.
In the 800 meter run, Talon Smith was fifth with a time of 2:10.
In the 1600 meter run, Koby Smith placed 16th with a time of 5:16; and Stephen Williams, 39th.
Matt Fields, Joe Burt, Aaron Johnstun and Koby Smith placed sixth in the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 48.33.
In the shot put, Brandon Yazzie was 29th with a throw of 30-10.
In the discus, Matt Fields placed third with a throw of 120-00.

In the high jump, Aaron Johnstun placed fourth, clearing 6-00; and Josh Fisher, seventh.
In the long jump, Joe Burt placed 26th with a distance of 13-02; and Josh Fisher, 27th.
In the girls’ 100 meter dash, Tricia Morgan placed 22nd with a time of 16.14; and Alyssa Hutchens, 24th.
In the 200 meter dash, Sarah Layden placed 14th with a time of 31.95.
In the 400 meter dash, Sarah Layden placed seventh with a time of 1:09; and Abby Hunt, 15th.
In the 800 meter run, Rachel Layden was 15th in 3:00; Shyann Flake, 18th; and Abby Hunt, 25th.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Rachel Layden placed ninth with a time of 57.67.
In the shot put, Hailey Rush was 29th with a distance of 21-10.
In the discus, Hailey Rush finished 23rd with a throw of 55-05.
In the high jump, Tricia Morgan placed 10th, clearing 4-02.
In the long jump, Tricia Morgan finished 24th with a distance of 11-11; and Alyssa Hutchens, 28th.
