Catching up with the Joseph City Wildcats finds the team coming off a 2-3 stretch in the past five games. Strangely enough, none of the games were very competitive.

Last Thursday the Cats fell on the road in Sanders, losing to the Pirates 14-6 in the closest margin of the five contests. After traveling to Fredonia on Saturday for a doubleheader against the Lynx, Joseph City dropped the first game 15-3, then fell in the second contest, 20-4.

On Monday of this week the Cats swept both games of a doubleheader against visiting Rough Rock. The Cats blanked the Sun Devils 17-0 in game one, then matched their run total in the second game, winning it 17-2.

The Wildcats headed into Thursday’s game at Round Valley with a regular season mark of 6-5, which ranked them 28th in power points in Division IV. Following that, they will have just three games remaining on their schedule unless they can move into the top 24 in the rankings to earn a post-season berth.

Joseph City will host Rock Point on Wednesday, April 22, then will close out the regular season at home against St. Johns on Monday, April 27.
