The Wildcats knew going into Williams on Friday night that it would be tough sledding, but it’s doubtful they were expecting to get beat 72-0 by the Vikings, snapping their three-game win streak.

Hosting Williams last season the Cats fell 70-14, and this time around Joseph City again struggled to contain the Vikings’ powerful offensive attack.

The scary thing for Wildcat fans is that Mogollon defeated Williams the previous week and the Mustangs will be Joseph City’s final regular season opponents.

With the loss, both Williams and Joseph City saw their season record move to 3-2.

The 1A football power point rankings were slated to be unveiled on Tuesday, and teams ranked in the top 12 at the end of the season will make the state playoffs. With El Capitan, Fredonia and Mogollon remaining on their schedule, the Wildcats have some work to do to make the post-season.
