Eric Miller will lead his Wildcats into the new hoops season with five seniors, four juniors, and three sophomores currently on the varsity roster. Last season the Cats went 16-2 during the regular season and after securing the second overall seed in the 1A State tournament they were upset in the second round of the tournament by Red Mesa. This season Joseph City will get things underway on Tuesday with a trip to St. Johns. Next Tuesday they will host Cibecue. Seniors currently on the Wildcat roster are Kaden Moss, Talon Smith, Damon Sandoval, KJ Kinlicheenie and Carlos Sanchez.
The Lady Wildcats, coached by Dan Bushman, will try and build off last season’s record of 4-13. Joseph City did not reach the post season but could potentially have 10 players returning from last year’s young roster. Like the boys team they will got their season underway on Tuesday with a trip to St. Johns. The following week they will play at home for the first time when Cibecue makes a visit.
