The Holbrook man who died after the three-wheeled ATV he was driving was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train on Sept. 9 has been identified as 37-year-old Jason Williams.
According to Holbrook Police Chief Mark Jackson, just after 12 noon that day Williams apparently drove the ATV up onto the tracks in order to cross the bridge over the Leroux Wash just west of Holbrook and drove about 15 feet west before being struck by the westbound train.
Williams was being transported via helicopter to Flagstaff Medical Center, but was later reported to have died. The train conductor was treated at the scene for shock.
