Veterans Day is a day of remembrance for all of us, but especially for those who have served to protect our country in times of need. To honor those men and women, a Veterans Day Celebration will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (Nov. 11) at the old courthouse gazebo, located at 100 E. Arizona St. in Holbrook. Military veterans Marlin Gillespie (left) and Dean Thompson post the American flag on Navajo Blvd. to commemorate the event, while Lisa and Randy Johnson do the same in the far distance. The Holbrook Painted Desert Kiwanis Club lines Navajo Blvd. and West Hopi Drive with flags on holidays. Anyone interested in assisting in this endeavor is welcome to come to the city yard on Airport Road at 6:30 this morning.
