There are plenty of Craigslist scams out there. There are also plenty of horrible stories involving criminals using the massive classifieds website to target victims. Some people looking to complete a sale or check out an item in person have been assaulted or killed. The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office welcomes anyone wanting to complete an in-person Craigslist sale to do so in the safety and security of its lobby or parking lot for larger items like furniture or cars. The main station, located at 137 W. Arizona St. in Holbrook, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The parking lot located to the east of the office is under video surveillance 24 hours a day. “We think it’s a good idea to make sure people are protected when they’re doing these Craigslist deals, so why not bring them into the sheriff’s office or any law enforcement agency lobby?” asked Sheriff K.C. Clark.
