On June 1, 2024, Toni Lynn Vogel (Faro), 75, entered into eternal rest at Flagstaff Medical Center. Toni began life on March 22, 1949, in Hollywood Calif.
In her youth she loved classical ballet. She was an avid knitter and had an appreciation for all kinds of fiber arts. She cherished her many dogs throughout the years and became an advocate to end Greyhound racing. There were several Greyhound adoptions stemming from her advocacy. She loved her children and grandchildren even through the tough times. She had a quick wit and an even quicker tongue when prompted. She had a thirst for knowledge and was always seen researching things that piqued her interest. She was a fan of vintage films and belonged to Facebook forums that discussed everything from the quality of the film in question to who would have played a better lead in said film. Her musical tastes varied. She would listen to Big Band and Swing equally as much as Aerosmith or Paganini or Beethoven. She lived a full life with travel to Europe and wanted to return someday.
She will be truly missed by many for a multitude ofreasons.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Earl Vogel; son, Anthony Gutierrez; daughter, Elise (Meme) Gutierrez; two granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence (Peno) Faro; mother, Elsie Faro (Morgan); and her beloved grandmother, Daisy.
She would request that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Humane Society or even adopt a Greyhound, they are still racing them in foreign countries.
Holy Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
