A special meeting of the Holbrook City Council will convene at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at city hall to meet with candidates to fill a vacancy on the council created by the resignation of Myron Maxwell. All qualified candidates must be present at this meeting to be considered for the position, and will be allowed 10 minutes to present their desire to serve. Those interested in serving on the council were required to submit a letter of interest to City Clerk Cher Reyes by 5 p.m. on Jan. 25. Letters were received from Jeff Hill, Earl Kester Sr. and Frank Lucero. Armando Aguilera submitted a letter of interest to the council at its Jan. 12 meeting, but advised Reyes on Jan. 25 that he had decided not to apply for the post at this time.
