Thanks to generous funding from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), The Bijou Teen Center in Holbrook will launch The Salvage Studio, a year-long creative reuse program designed to transform recyclable materials into art. A $14,775 grant from ADEQ will support weekly classes of projects using discarded plastic, paper, metal, and other materials to create pieces for personal expression and community enjoyment.
The Salvage Studio is about more than making art. The program will also help teens learn the value of recycling, environmental responsibility, and creative problem-solving by discovering new ways everyday items can be repurposed into something meaningful and useful.
The program will expand to additional age groups during the summer months. To learn more about upcoming classes or to find out what items can be donated for future projects, visit growarizona.org and click The Bijou link to view the calendar.
