City Clerk Cher Reyes stated that she was thrilled for the award that will be used to rebuild the existing 6,700-foot runway at the airport from the ground up. “When I first applied for the grant, I was told that the chances of us getting it were very slim. So I’m very excited that we got it,” she said. There are no required matching funds for this project.

Under the Secretary’s leadership, the FAA is administering the supplemental program to strengthen the safety and efficiency of America’s airports. U.S. infrastructure, especially its 3,300 airports in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, increases the country’s competitiveness and improves the traveling public’s quality of life.
