Running against 456 other runners at the Nike Desert Twilight Cross Country Classic in Casa Grande on Friday night, Joseph City’s Talon Smith finished in a very impressive third place overall with a time of 16:29. Jacob Bushman placed 197th, Kaden Moss was 355th and Daniel James Beatty finished in 403rd position.
For the Lady Wildcat team Kaylie Gardner finished 79th in the 349 runner field with a time of 22:18. Katrina Heaton placed 203rd; Kimberlin Johnstun, 241st; and Celina Hubner finished in 336th position.
Sixty-one boys teams ran in the race and forty-one girls teams competed in the very large Nike meet.
