An early morning fire at Tom & Suzie’s Diner in Holbrook is being investigated due to suspicious circumstances.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, a Holbrook resident on his way to work called the police department to report the fire at the diner located at 2001 Navajo Blvd. Officers arrived on scene and reported black smoke coming from the rear of the building. The Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department arrived and was able put the fire out with the exterior of the building remaining intact.

According to Holbrook Police Chief Nathan Christensen, the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) responded to the location and video from the diner showed an individual on the premises prior to when the fire began. That person is also sought in connection with a burglary that occurred directly after the fire at Little Caesars, located at 305 Navajo Blvd.
