The Snowflake Junior High School eighth grade football team and softball team are White Mountain League champions for 2016, and were honored by the Snowflake Unified School District Governing Board last week.
A few members representing the football team attended the Oct. 11 school board meeting. The football team had a really good season, and Principal Brian Hoopes said they are very proud of the boys.
Coach Scott Mills said that the year began with 55 on the team and ended with 45 boys, noting they had a lot of fun this year. They won all of their games, and all of the boys had an opportunity to play. He attributes the interest and good playing to the Youth Football program.
