The Lady Roadrunners finally stepped foot on a soccer field for a game when they traveled to Camp Verde on Thursday afternoon. Holbrook has a team with numerous newcomers this year. Their inexperience showed in a 0-8 loss to the Lady Cowboys in their first outing. This week they will host Payson on Tuesday. The team is slated to host Chino Valley on Monday of next week. With a shortage of soccer officials in the region, multiple matches are having to be rescheduled for all area teams. Next Wednesday Holbrook will host Round Valley at 6 p.m. with the boys’ team playing the Elks that same day at 4 p.m.
Holbrook boys soccer team fell to 1-3 on the season, with a 1-7 loss in Payson on Thursday night. This week they were slated to play twice, however, Thursday’s scheduled match in Snowflake had to be moved due to no officials. They will have a match at 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon when they host Northland Prep at Roadrunner Stadium. At 4 p.m. next Wednesday they will host Round Valley.
