Rick Pogue, 56, of Arenas Valley, N.M., was found guilty of seven counts each of sexual conduct with a minor and kidnapping on Feb. 12, in the Navajo County Superior Court. These crimes occurred between 2001-2011 in the unincorporated areas of Winslow and Joseph City. The victim came forward in 2017 and reported these crimes to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office. Sentencing was held on April 7 and Pogue was sentenced to life in prison for each count of sexual conduct with a minor, without the eligibility of parole until after he serves the first 35 years. Pogue will be 91 years old when eligible. All victims of sexual assault, whether delayed or an incident that had just occurred, are encouraged to report it to any law enforcement agency.
