Although Holbrook, Winslow, Snowflake and Joseph City schools are on spring break this week, Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent Kathy Hoffman have announced that the State of Arizona will close schools through Friday, March 27.

Holbrook Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robbie Koerperich asked that parents utilize internet educational resources, read to and with their children, and continue educational activities at home to ensure the educational gap is minimized during the time away from school.

HUSD will post educational resources for parents and students on the district website to help parents with educational materials on their website.

Beginning, Monday, March 23, HUSD and WUSD will continue breakfast and lunch programs. At HUSD the programs will be a grab and go style program. “Students will not be allowed to eat on campus, rather, we will make lunch and breakfast available via a grab and go format,” stated Koerperich. WUSD has not yet outlined their breakfast and lunch protocol but information will be available on the district’s website. SUSD and JCUSD has not posted breakfast and lunch information so contact your district to learn their plan.

Koerperich noted, “In addition, we ask that parents help us monitor the health of our students over break. If your child becomes ill, please call the school, during the break, to notify us about the symptoms that your child is experiencing. You may call or email your child’s school or call the district office at (928) 524-6144. Self-reporting illness is critical to ensuring everyone stays health.”

The restrictions include all school activities, practices, etc. have been cancelled or postponed until schools resume.
