By Greg Perkins The Holbrook boys improved their season mark to 17-3 with a two-point, come from behind win over the Sand Devils last Saturday afternoon in Page. The Roadrunners seemed to need some time to recover from the long bus ride to Page, as they netted just seven first period points and trailed by ten at the end of the first quarter. In the second, Holbrook sharpshooter Abrian Dickson began to find the range, netting 10 of his game high 27 points to help trim the Sand Devils’ lead to 33-28 at the half. Dickson added another 11 points in the third quarter, but Holbrook still trailed by four with eight minutes to play. Rhett Desiderio hit a pair of big three-point shots in the final quarter, and Dickson added his fifth trey of the game to help Holbrook overcome Page down the stretch on the way to the 59-57 win. Dickson netted just two points in the first period, but scorched the nets for 25 through the final three periods. Desiderio hit three treys for 9 points. Nathan Johnson and Miireux Begaii each added 7. Benson Davis had 4, Hayden Kinlichee, 3, and Elliot Pete, 1. Holbrook made just eight two-point field goals, but buried 11 from long range. The Roadrunners also went 11 for 15 at the line. Page netted 21 two-point field goals, but couldn’t keep pace from behind the arc, hitting just a pair. The Sand Devils were nine for 17 at the line. The Roadrunners entered this week ranked seventh in power points with a 6-1 record. They will host Winslow tonight (Jan. 13), travel to Snowflake on Friday, Jan. 15, then head to Chandler to play Valley Christian on Saturday, Jan. 16. On Tuesday, Jan. 19, they will host Tuba City.
