Holbrook’s wrestling team will be represented by three individuals at the Division IV State meet held on Thursday and Friday in Prescott at the Findlay Toyota Center.

Josh Pack, Jake Shumway and Samsel Yellowhair each placed fourth at the sectional meet held in Winslow last Friday, to earn themselves a trip to the state meet.

Holbrook sent eight wrestlers to the sectional meet, where the team finished with 36 points putting them in eighth place in the 16-team field. St. Johns won the team crown with 239 points, followed by Page with 171.5, Monument Valley 152, Joseph City 100 and Winslow finished fifth with 99 team points.

Josh Pack went 1-2 in the 120 lb. weight class earning fourth place. Jake Shumway was 2-2 in the 126 lb. class, also placing fourth and Samsel Yellowhair placed fourth in the 138 lb. division with a 2-2 record.

Holbrook wrestlers who competed but had their respective season’s come to a close were Caleb Trujillo, 0-2 at 106 lbs.; Malachi Daniels, 1-2 at 132 lbs.; Aiden Legg, 0-2 at 145 lbs.; Jacob Yazzie, 1-2 at 152 lbs.; and Malakai Johnson went 1-2 in the 170 lb. weight class.
