The Holbrook Roadrunners snapped a four-game losing skid on Jan. 10 at the expense of visiting Snowflake. Hayden Kinlichee found the groove from behind the arc, nailing six treys to pace the home squad with 20 points in the 66-49 win.

Two of those three-point shots came in the first quarter, where Holbrook held a 17-7 advantage. In the second, two more from Kinlichee and another from Jared Woody sent the Birds to the break on top 31-19. Snowflake’s Trey Schneider kept the Lobos close, netting eight points in the first half.

Both teams scored well in the third as Holbrook extended its lead by a single point. In the final period the Roadrunners withstood a rally by the Lobos which cut the lead to seven points before pulling away late to pick up their sixth win of the season.

Along with Kinlichee’s 20 points, Elliot Pete dropped in 15; Tynen Thomas, 9; Korey McReeves and Josiah Freddie, 5 each; JE Cummings, 4; Lane Goldtooth and Woody, 3 each; and Damian Begay, 2.

Snowflake was led by Schneider with 12. Garrett Wood added 7; Dylan Kay, 6; Tanner Willis, 5; Mason Willis, Kay Kelley, Zach Solomon and Garson Hatch, 4 each; and Dallin Chapman, 3.

Holbrook connected on eight three-point shots and went 8 for 16 at the free throw line.

Snowflake failed to make a trey and converted 7 of 16 at the charity stripe.

With the win the Roadrunners improved to 6-7 on the season and 2-5 in power point contests.

The Lobos dropped to 8-11 overall and 3-6 in power point games.
