The Holbrook Roadrunners have qualified for the 3A State tournament as the 22nd overall seed and they will open the state playoffs on the road at higher seeded American Leadership Academy tonight (Wednesday, Feb. 14).

The Patriots from Queen Creek finished the season with an overall power point record of 7-11, but still earned the 11th overall seed. They play in the 3A central division and have two common opponents this season with Holbrook. The Patriots fell to Valley Christian once and they split games with Safford who is in their region. Holbrook lost to both Valley Christian and Safford.

American Leadership has a huge line up including one player 6’7”, two players 6’6”, and one player listed at 6’5”. Only three players on the roster are under six-foot tall. Holbrook will certainly have to use their speed, quickness and outside shooting to try and pull the upset.

If they can get past American Leadership tonight they would advance in the bracket to face No. 6 Chinle on Saturday at a neutral site closer to Chinle. A win in the second round and Holbrook would advance to round three in Prescott next Tuesday.
