Both Roadrunner soccer teams earned victories during last week’s fall break with each of those wins coming against Round Valley.

Hosting Round Valley on Wednesday, Holbrook’s boys’ team opened up a 5-0 halftime lead, then cruised to a 9-1 home field win on senior night.

The boys will play their final two games of the season this week. They will travel to Lakeside on Tuesday to face Blue Ridge, then will close out their season on Friday with a trip to Sedona to take on the Scorpions. Holbrook was ranked 13th in power points entering this week with their 4-5-1 overall record. Only the top eight in boys’ fall soccer qualify for the postseason state tournament.

The Lady Roadrunners were also victorious over Round Valley last week. Their match was much closer with Holbrook edging the Elks 2-1 picking up their first-ever region win in the process. That win moved their season mark to 4-5. Holbrook is ranked ninth heading into their final match of the season. In girls’ soccer, only the top six teams advance to postseason play. Holbrook’s final match of the season will be on Tuesday this week when they host Blue Ridge on senior night beginning at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Stadium.
