The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a pavement rehabilitation project along Navajo Blvd. in Holbrook. Work will include replacing the top layer of existing pavement between Crestview Drive and Joy Nevin Avenue, installing ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps at 24 locations within the project area, improving pedestrian access and other related work.
Construction is scheduled to begin mid-September and be completed by the end of the year. East and westbound lanes on Navajo Blvd. will have lane restrictions, as needed, to complete paving operations. Lane closures may also be required while construction crews pour concrete to install new sidewalk ramps.
Much of the work is anticipated to take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize disruptions for local businesses.
Drivers need to be prepared to slow down and merge over to the open lane in the work zone and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.
Traffic control will include travel through the railroad.
