Gill and Jeanie Harrison of Lake Havasu have made the trek for the past five years. According to Gill, “At the end of Vietnam there were 82,237 soldiers missing. If there was a town somewhere in the United States where 82,237 people went missing, we’d think that they could find them but they can’t. The interesting thing now is that with the DNA tagging that goes on with the soldiers that number still goes up every year.”

On May 19, hundreds of motorcycles descended upon Winslow and Holbrook as they made the Run for the Wall, an annual trek to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Each year these riders stop in Holbrook to enjoy lunch, courtesy of American Legion Post 37. This year, as they do every year, they rode past public schools in both cities, where kids and other residents cheered and waved in recognition of the efforts of these individuals who have served our country, and to honor those who gave their lives to our freedom.
