Riley, a representative for Sunland, there will be a full runway closure and the taxiway/apron will remain open to pilots, the local aviation association and the Holbrook City Staff. Part of the process requires a pulverizer that pulls up the existing asphalt and breaks it down into finer material, which is picked up by a skip loader, stockpiled and reused as part of the subgrade. Subgrade is the layer of material laid down before placing the new asphalt.
