In the weeks leading up to an election, we are happy to provide space to area readers for their letters concerning the candidates or issues, providing the letters are in good taste and are not libelous. Even so, we usually receive letters for publication just before the election when there would not be adequate time for the candidate or people supporting an issue to respond, and therefore we do not print them. We believe this is the only fair policy to everyone involved and to the public in general. Therefore, we will accept such letters relating to the March 10 Holbrook election that are submitted no later than 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, for publication on Friday, Feb. 27.
