Postcard from The Tribune-News archives
This postcard from the 1940s shows an artistic rendition of the Arizona Rancho in Holbrook built in the early 1880s. In a story written for the Holbrook Tribune-News in 1984, owner Henry Taylor was quoted as saying, “The Arizona Rancho is probably the largest adobe structure of its type still standing in Arizona and it was the first major structure built in the Little Colorado River Valley area.” Though it has been vacant for many years, the motel remains standing at the corner of Tovar and Apache streets.
