The Old Trails Museum offers its free Route 66 Centennial Highlight at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Winslow Visitors Center, which will be the final presentation in the museum’s 2026 speaker series: Celebrating the Centennial of Route 66.

On the Saturday before the actual anniversary of the designation of Route 66 on Nov. 11, 1926, OTM Director Ann-Mary Lutzick will give a companion talk to the museum’s latest exhibit, 100 Years of Route 66 in Winslow, which highlights the iconic highway on Second and Third streets through Winslow, both yesterday and today.

The talk will focus on some of the businesses and their owners and families in more detail than was possible in the exhibit, which is on display at the Winslow Visitors Center and on the OTM Website throughout 2026 and beyond. Both the exhibit and 2026 historical calendar of the same name were funded by an Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona grant.

Lutzick has been the director of the Old Trails Museum since 2010. She has authored two Arcadia Publishing titles on Winslow’s history, “Winslow” (2013) and “Past & Present: Winslow” (2024), the latter of which highlights the renovated buildings along Winslow’s stretch of Historic Route 66.

She and her husband, artist Dan Lutzick, live in Snowdrift Art Space, their home, studio and gallery on Historic Route 66 in downtown Winslow.
