Learn more about training opportunities in energy, mining and manufacturing during an open house at Northland Pioneer College in Holbrook during Get Into Energy Week, Oct. 13-18. Arizona and our nation need highly skilled workers to maintain and update our energy production and distribution facilities, mine raw materials and manage the processes of manufacturing. NPC alumni and faculty members in Welding, Mechatronics (automated manufacturing), and Industrial Maintenance & Operations fields will be on hand during the open house to explain how the NPC programs prepare you for careers in these high-demand areas. The public open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at NPC’s Skills Center on the Holbrook campus, 2251 E. Navajo Blvd. NPC financial aid representatives, advisers and career coaches will be on hand, and attendees can discover job training options through the Navajo and Apache Counties Workforce Partnership-WIA. Representatives from NPC’s construction technology program will be participating in the Holbrook open house. NPC is one of five Arizona community colleges partnering together to train workers in energy, mining and manufacturing careers as part of the Arizona Sun Corridor Get Into Energy Consortium Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
