Obit Lujan No

No “Donicio” Lujan embarked on his final ride into the sunset on March 25, 2024. Born on July 9, 1966, in the town of Gallup, N.M. No’s final chapter came to a peaceful close in Chandler, surrounded by the love of those who cherished him most.

Graduating from Gallup High School in 1985, he then went on to graduate from the US Military Academy Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, serving in the US Army, both in the active and reserve (IRR) components from 1986 to 1999.

After his military service, No found another family at the Gallup Fire Department. For 20 years, he served as a lieutenant, a member of the honor/color guard, and the HAZMAT team, to name a few.

No was the guy who not only knew how to escape a chokehold but could also tell you the chemical composition of the smoke you were choking on.

No’s heart belonged to Kimberly, the love of his life and partner in crime in treasure hunting at Goodwill. She survives him, along with her parents, Mac “Sir” and Nancy “Mother Dearest;” her cousin, Isidro “Primo;” and the feline master of the house, Jinx. They were an integral part of his journey as were his adopted family members, Julio, Roxanne, Jose and Ruby—neighbors who became family.

He is also survived by three sons, Andrew (Racheal), Joseph and Kodee (Allison); two brothers, Adrian and Felix; and his cousin, Vicky, who he was very close to.

The roar of motorcycles will echo a little less brightly without No and his ride-or-die friends, Jeff “JR” and Ed and Doodle, with whom he shared countless miles and memories.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia P. Gaona; grandparents, Francisco ‘Poncho’ and Consuelo Gaona; and his granddaughter, Mahlia ‘Mya’. His loved ones set the stage for the man he would become.

A memorial service was held July 13, at the Holbrook Cemetery.
