Mylee Demuth of Holbrook rules the region as the top girl hoop shooter and soon she will be heading to Chicago for her third try at becoming the Elks Hoop Shoot National Champion. Mylee, a 13-year-old participant in the Elks Hoop Shoot, has successfully qualified for the National Shoot to be held in Chicago, Ill. She has defeated the competition at the local, district and state level and now at the regional level after competing in Las Vegas, Nev. Mylee and her family will travel to Chicago on April 21, and compete against 11 other winners from around the United States. This year she also added the Adrian Brubaker trophy for the girl that made the most baskets at the regional shoot. The Hoop Shoot is a contest of free throws and the contestant that makes the most out of 25 shots advances. This is not Mylee’s first go around as she has advanced to the nationals the last two years. This will be her last chance to become a champion as she has aged out of the competition.
