The all-northern Arizona and reservation finals were held on Monday when the Monument Valley Lady Mustangs were to meet the Page Lady Sand Devils in the Arizona 3A Conference championship game at the Gila River Arena in Glendale. Both these teams won their semifinal games on Friday to secure a berth in the championship game.

Page was a third seed with a first round bye. The Lady Sand Devils defeated the Winslow Lady Bulldogs 63-43 on Feb. 16, then beat the Safford Lady Bulldogs 57-47 on Feb. 19 in the quarterfinals. The Lady Sand Devils got by second seeded Window Rock Lady Scouts 67-46 to advance to the finals.

Monument Valley was a 12th seed and defeated Yuma Catholic 67-25 in an opening round game. The Lady Mustangs beat the fifth seeded Holbrook Lady Roadrunners 59-49 in their second upset win in the tournament. A 38-32 upset win over the Ganado Lady Hornets earned Monument Valley its spot in the championship game.

Page and Monument Valley have played three times this season with Page having won two of those games. Monument Valley won the season opener 58-51 at Page. Page edged the Lady Mustangs 33-31 at Kayenta in January and cruised past them 47-20 in the regional tournament.
