Marvin Yazzie, a senior at Holbrook High School, won first place in M.I.G. welding at the Eastern Arizona Community College’s Skills Day competition held April 12. Students from nine high schools competed in various areas, including arts/graphic design, automotive, business, CAD, chemistry, computers, cosmetology, foreign language, medical terminology, woodworking and welding. Marvin competed against nine other students. This event is held to showcase Eastern Arizona College and the various applied science programs it offers. Marvin has been in Dale Larsen’s welding program at HHS for the past two years.
