Madonna Portenier Madonna Portenier, age 89, passed on Sept. 17 in Scottsdale. She was born April 26, 1931, to Rafe Monroe and Katherine Emma Lindsay in Everett Wash. They moved to Bisbee in 1939 and built and operated a cafe up the hill from town for several years. She graduated from Bisbee High School in 1948 and married Walter (Gene) Portenier in 1949 settling in Glendale. They moved to Holbrook in 1961 where Walt opened several businesses. She is survived by sons, Keith (Freda) of Holbrook, Daniel (Ibi) of Scottsdale and many grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt in 2015 and precious son Timothy passed to the Lord Almighty in 2002. Private services have already been held. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
