Holbrook has and always will be my home. I have volunteered as a youth baseball coach for many years and levels from Little League all the way to high school. I have worked for the City of Holbrook in several capacities for 17 years including as Water/Wastewater Superintendent, temporary Streets Supervisor and Director of Recreation, located at the administrative offices of City Hall. I am seeking election to the Holbrook City Council because I believe my experience in city service combined with my leadership skills will bring an important balance of fair and impartial local governance. I seek to closely monitor the actions of the employees that are paid to service all of the asphalt roads, improving and upgrading our water and wastewater infrastructure, replacing the dilapidated gutters and drainage systems in Holbrook, and developing new recreational opportunities for children, adults and senior citizens alike. I would also like to see improvements in the recreational opportunities that are already in place. It would be beneficial to entice new businesses to call the City of Holbrook their home, while promoting the businesses that already exist. After graduating from high school and celebrating a baseball state championship, I was selected as an Arizona A-AAA North All Star and earned an NJCAA Division One baseball scholarship from Connors State College in Warner, Okla. It was at Connors State College that I attained an Associates degree in Science. I also attended Northland Pioneer College to study macroeconomics before transferring to the University of Arizona on another baseball scholarship. At the University of Arizona I studied psychology and nutrition. The following baseball season, I transferred to the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M. on another baseball scholarship and studied sociology and secondary education. I hope to use my varied studies to help the City of Holbrook prosper to its full potential.
