Eighth seeded Snowflake battled back from a 12-point second half deficit on Saturday night to end the season for the No. 9 SanTan Foothills Sabercats.

Hosting the Sabercats, it took overtime, but the Lobos were able to prevail 56-52 to advance to the quarterfinal round in Prescott on Feb. 25. Their opponent in that game was top seeded Page. If the Lobos can keep up their momentum, they would advance to the final four, which will be played this year at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Noah Baum led the Lobo attack with 13 points on just five shots. Steward West controlled the boards on the inside, finishing with 17 rebounds to go along with his 10 points. Troy Brinkerhoff also netted 10. Patrik Henderson finished with 9 points, including a crucial four-point play late in the game. Devin Willis added 6 points.

With the win, the Lobos improved their overall season record to 18-12. A win on Tuesday would advance them to face either No. 5 Sabino or No. 4 Paradise Honors. Both those teams took out fellow 3A East members on Saturday. Sabino ended Holbrook’s season 56-50, and Paradise Honors defeated Blue Ridge 76-61.

Friday’s semi-final game would be scheduled for a 7:30 tip-off.
