Snowflake’s boys team played just once last week, but Tuesday’s 58-53 road win at Payson has lifted them to 12th in the overall rankings heading into a busy week this week.
The Lobos found themselves trailing 20-12 at the end of the first period but rallied back in the second to make it a three-point game at the half. They then trailed by four starting the fourth, but a strong comeback in the final eight minutes propelled them to the five-point region win.
Their game with Winslow originally scheduled for last week has been rescheduled for Jan. 31 in Winslow.
Three games are on tap for this week. After traveling to take on third ranked Holbrook on Tuesday night they will face Show Low in Blue Ridge’s gym on Thursday. Two days later on Saturday, they will host Monument Valley.
The Lobos enter this week 4-3 in regular season games and they are now 5-7 overall. Like most East region teams, they will have a heavy schedule over the final three weeks of the season with 10 games still scheduled in that time frame.
