Snowflake wrapped up the regular football season with a 34-6 home field win over Winslow on Friday night. That win combined with Blue Ridge’s 19-16 win over Payson left the three teams with identical 4-1 region records. Payson’s thrilling overtime win over the Lobos a couple of weeks ago leaves the Longhorns holding the tie breaker over the Lobos. However, Snowflake finished the season ranked higher in the final power point rankings. The Lobos enter the state playoffs at the No. 4 seed, while Blue Ridge is No. 5, and Payson is No. 15.

Snowflake finished the season fourth in the rankings. As the four seed they will host No. 13 River Valley on Friday night. With an expected win they would face either No. 5 Blue Ridge or No. 12 AZ College Prep next week. That game would also be played in Snowflake. If the Yellowjackets win that game, it will set up another huge rematch between the Lobos and the Yellowjackets. Both teams need to get past the first round in order for that to happen.
