Snowflake continues to roll through opponents on the football field, although in Friday night’s game in Coolidge it took the Lobos a while to get their offense hitting on all cylinders. They scored once in the opening period, but led just 6-0 at the half. Their defense got the job done, though, limiting the Bears to just one fourth period score.

Snowflake played much better offensively in the second half, scoring three times in the third, then tacked on two more in the final period to win the game 38-6 and push its season record to 4-0.

Tyler Claridge completed two-thirds of his passes, going six for nine for 111 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown toss to JT Tate. Login Whitlock hauled in two catches for 45 yards, Zach Solomon had a 16-yard reception and Alex Patterson made a two-yard catch.

The Lobos amassed 369 yards with their dominant ground game. Tanner Willis carried the ball only six times, but gained 100 yards and scored twice. Solomon rushed 11 times, picking up 91 yards and scoring once. Patterson had 12 carries for 89 yards with a score. Bayley Cook rushed four times for 67 yards. Richard Baird carried three times for nine total yards. Trent Hatch also had three carries for eight yards, but one of those runs found the end zone. Claridge rushed once for five yards.

This week the Lobos will host Florence. The Gophers come into this game with a 2-2 record, with wins over Page and Apache Junction in the first two weeks followed by a big loss to Show Low two weeks ago and a tough 15-14 double-overtime loss to Blue Ridge last Friday.

Facing Show Low, Blue Ridge and now Snowflake in a three-week stretch will be too much for Florence to overcome. Look for the Lobos to move to 5-0 this week.
