The Lobos of Snowflake High wrapped up preparation for this week’s key gridiron match-up with Blue Ridge by hammering Alchesay 49-8 in Whiteriver.

Snowflake dominated the game throughout, piling up seven touchdowns in the process. Snowflake scored three times in the first period, then added two more scores in the second to lead at the half 36-0. Just one score in the third and one final touchdown in the fourth were more than enough to offset Alchesay’s lone score, which came late in the game.

Not much passing was needed in the game for the Lobos, but Chase Walden completed three of four for 37 yards. Ty Reidhead came off the bench and made good on two of three attempts for 34 yards. Tyler Johnson, Nick Tate, Doug Brimhall, Rick Shumway and Josie Dunn each had one reception in the win.

On the ground, Walden led the team by rushing eight times for 97 yards with two scores. Brit Smith also scored twice, gaining 40 yards on just four runs. Johnson gained 25 yards and scored on his only carry. Nate Kelley gained 14 yards on his only run. Derek Flake rushed once for 10 yards. Josh Kelley ran twice for nine yards. Braccin Tanner ran once, scoring on a nine-yard gain.

Defensively, the Lobos were led by Trevor McNeil with seven tackles. Tanner had six, while Kelley and Garrett Hunt each made five stops. Dallin Merrell and Walden each helped with four tackles. Josh Kelley and Hunt both recovered fumbles, while Clayton Solomon picked off one Falcon pass attempt. Hunter Farr made good on five of six point after kicks.
