By Greg Perkins Snowflake’s boys team remained unbeaten with three victories last week. That perfect mark has them ranked second overall in the 3A rankings, which were first released on Thursday. The Lobos are close behind top ranked and also unbeaten Valley Christian. The week started with a 79-70 win over previously unbeaten and seventh ranked Winslow on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came into the game on the heels of five straight wins with only one of those contests being close. They left with their first and only loss thus far this season. Hosting Show Low on Thursday the Lobos distanced themselves from the Cougars in the second half pulling away for a 74-51 home court win. Saturday had Snowflake making the long trip to Page to take on 6’10” Sand Devil center Stuart Sandall and his tough Page teammates. The game was close throughout with Snowflake getting just enough defensive stops in the final couple minutes of the game to hold off Page and remain unbeaten with a 76-69 road win. After facing an improved Roadrunner team which gave them their closest game thus far this season in Holbrook on Tuesday, the Lobos will play at Blue Ridge on Friday. Next week they host Snowflake on Tuesday.
