By Greg Perkins The Lobos rolled through the regular season suffering just one loss and have compiled a 15-1 regular season record. That mark has positioned them as the third overall seed in the upcoming 3A state tournament. Their only loss came at the hands of Winslow who is the No. 2 seed, meaning a potential rematch exists down the round. The Lobos will host 14th seeded Thatcher tonight (March 10). These two teams played just two Saturdays ago with the Lobos cruising to an 83-64 home court win. If they can repeat that performance they will host either No. 6 Florence or No. 11 American Leadership Ironwood in a second-round game on Saturday evening. A win in round two would set up a potential rematch in the semi-final round with Winslow if the Bulldogs can get past their first two opponents. Snowflake won their final regular season game last Tuesday with a 15-point road win over St. Johns by a final of 57-42. Snowflake’s first round game with Thatcher will have a 7 p.m. tip-off. With a win, Saturday’s second round game would also tip at 7 p.m.
