The Lobos split the two games they played last week, falling at Thatcher on Wednesday then bouncing back with a close win over Holbrook on Friday. Wednesday’s game against the Eagles started well enough for Snowflake with a three-run first inning. That lead held until the bottom of the third when Thatcher tied the score. The Eagles moved ahead with two runs in the fourth, then added one run in the sixth to win the game 6-3. Tyler Hanson went 2 for 3, scoring once. Jr. Fox was 1 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs. Tyler Claridge went 2 for 4 with a double and scored once. Wacey Wood was 1 for 3 and Tanner Crosby went 2 for 3. Hanson took the loss on the mound with six innings of work. He faced 33 batters, giving up six runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Hosting Holbrook on Friday the Lobos found themselves deadlocked at 2-2 after two innings. Snowflake edged ahead with a run in the third, then made some breathing room with three runs in the fourth to build a 6-2 lead. The Roadrunners mounted a challenge with two runs in the fifth, cutting the lead in half. In the final two innings, the Roadrunners left six runners stranded, but couldn’t get another run to cross, leaving Snowflake with a 6-4 win. Hanson went 1 for 3 with a double. Tarren Reidhead was 0 for 2, but walked once, reached once on an error and scored twice. Cadeon Ervien was also 0 for 2, but walked and scored once. Matt Lamb went 1 for 2 and scored once. Jake Lyman went 1 for 2 with a triple and three RBIs. Crosby went 1 for 2 with a walk and scored two runs. Lyman worked five innings, facing 24 batters. He gave up four runs on three hits with six strikeouts and six walks. Crosby pitched two innings, facing 11 batters. He allowed no runs, only one hit with five strikeouts and walked two. With the split the Lobos moved to 3-4 on the season. After playing at Blue Ridge on Tuesday, they will host Payson today (March 18). Their final game prior to spring break will be at Round Valley on Friday, March 20. They return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 31, when they host Show Low.
